Computer Camp
What Can I Expect from the Computer Camp
Technology plays a vital role in today's society. Computers
have become a necessity in all aspects of our lives. As
the new millennium begins, computers are no longer a luxury
for households with children but have become necessities.
Being computer literate is important for children because
our workforce requires computer knowledge. Computers are
a vital communication in our society. The Internet plays
a vital role, especially for helping young people when doing
school assignments. Additionally, students use the Internet
to research papers and word processing to type papers.
Zachery & Graham Enterprise objectives for having a computer
camp for ages 8-15 are:
- To introduce computer concepts and technology
- To teach basic effective concepts to search the Internet
- To use the computer as a motivational tool to stimulate
interest as a home work helper
- To acquaint students with basic HTML tagging to develop
a homepage
- To provide a basic overview of Microsoft Word
- To provide educational and recreational computer use
- To expose students to the culture and setting of a university
environment
- To instill positive student attitudes
Hours of hands on instruction will be provided with a wide
range of topics and subjects. For example, reading, mathematics,
and test preparation are few of the areas that will be covered.
